Rio Verde Rocks

8" x 10" Oil on panel
Tonto State Park

$125. + S/H

and this one was from 2.22.07 last year:Saw the same Bald Eagle on nest at top of the largest rock first thing.
It was magnificent to watch leave the nest, return later, and leave again.
Their was alot more grass around the rocks this year. Wonder what that means?
Is there some ecologist out there who knows?

  1. Candy,
I looked at Neil's work...amazing, especially since he does woodcuts!
I'm in Chandler for the next year at least. I wanted to do some plein air in Flagstaff, but it was crazy cold. I'm hoping to get connected with some artists groups here in Phoenix as soon as possible. The trouble is, all I want to do is sit and paint and never go out
Great work on your blog, and the pieces you have hanging back in Vermont. Looking forward to see what you do out west here.

  3. Thanks Mick. I'll email you our WED plein air outings announcements. We went to another Tonto Park spot today. And you're right! 40 degrees this morning made it tough! We did go to the Mesa Tonto Ranger Station afterwards though, and found out it's OK to build campfires (there are firepits by the road which were tempting today). So I'll bring matches next time...lol.
