Desert Wash

6" x 6" Oil on masonite

$99. + S/H

Painting this morning at Tonto National Park at the Bulldog wash,
it was 40 degrees! Needless to say, we were bundled up
and I was happy wearing my fleece gloves.
I painted three different views, and this is one of them.
The heavy rain we had Monday left puddles,
and also clouds that affected the light from moment to moment.

  1. This is such a beautiful piece, Candy! And my hat's off to you for painting outdoors in such cold temps. You are braver than I am... my blood freezes at the thought!

  2. Thanks Diana, Sometimes we do bolt from the location after arriving and move into "research"....lol...photographing and driving further. It was 37 that day, in Superstition Mts, and everything in shadow as well. We drove all the way to ROOSEVELT dam on rt 88 stopping off at Torilla Flat. It was an incredible trip through fish creek, and mts similar to Sedona.
Anyone wishing for shutterfly album of photos let me know!

  3. Lovely. I can now see why you found mine a bit "cold" hehehe. Right now I would not have minded a visit to a dry warm place for a couple of weeks.
