6 x 6 inches Oil on Birch Ply

Here's pond across the street from where I live with Prickly Mountain in backdrop. I planted this willow tree in 1979 thinking it would have long tassels to swing on like the willow I grew up with. Not. Guess I didn't read the label carefully at the nursery about what KIND of willow this was going to be. Hmmm. Lots of different willows it turns out. Kind of a major disappointment, but it has a good presence anyway.

My plein air class happily painting away. We're in the storm path today with heavy rain and wind all day.
What a beautiful painting! I like the confidence of your brush strokes and how they shape the tree so gracefully!
ReplyDeleteCandy, I hope you have been spared the misery we're hearing about in Vermont.
