Her allergies were killing her beautiful eyes, or I would have liked to remain outside longer.

Perhaps I should make the background a darker green to help the filtered back light

read better.  Who thought doing a portrait with this light was a good idea? 

I'll be doing her portrait again have no fear.

Before dining at the extraordinary designer Joyce Crawford's home with Ann Leak, I painted a lovely picture hanging in her home that she acquired from her friend Margaret.

Standing lamp by painting, exposure only worked for one or the other...

We liked the abstract qualities of the paint box juxtaposed with the painting...

Painted at the Paris in Springtime event on Saturday.  Jun Li and I had a lovely conversation, and her English was impressive.  She graduated in China, has a 23 yr old daughter working there still for a video game company. It's such a short time, I wish I had made the left eye more to match the right...gee whiz...seems so obvious now...20 minute oil study...and not really smaller than a number 6 flat brush.

If you notice, the model has a GIGANTIC PILLOW on her lap, that she was suggested to use in order to raise her hands up..(this was from the right side of the room unbeknownst to me... so figuring a big pillow on her lap should be substituted for her holding something else...I figured what better to hold than my grandson?  So I couldn't not swap out the look of model's features for Sabra!  But this was the first attempt... the baby's head too small... so the last version baby is bigger and is lower, mom with longer neck as well.. Ran out of time.

But here we have 2 great examples of why the LARGE pillow was needed...  very nice paintings by Jerry and James (both instructors at Scottsdale Artists School)

A tad overexposed - taken in nearly full sun outdoors. Didn't realize there was glare on painting.
