Field & Emma Playing Violin Duets at VT Fine Art Gallery

While I was painting the portrait I posted yesterday, these two talented young women played duets for 3 hours. It was so fun to try to capture them next WHILE they were playing. Not so easy to get two likenesses on a 10 x 10 canvas, with 2 violins foreshortened AND four hands!!

Two Models in Yellow Room

This was done with same model doing two poses the same day with lighting stationary five years ago. Doing some back up on my other computer and cannot access any of this week's paintings.

Heading to Maine this weekend for two weeks for annual painting retreat.
Have been prepping canvases to take, including some Unfinished Ones! Who knew...turns out, I know these can be improved with another session at the same spot, so I'm really looking forward to being able to have the Jump Start with a foundation already started (forests, rocky coastline at various tides, vistas etc so confident not too much will have changed).

I decided to darken the water on right, lower Carol's leg, dumb down the white dock on far side of lake, and added some leaves to birch tree. (A bit of discrepancy in light of final one when I photographed)
