Cloud Hole - #73011

6 x 6 inches Oil on birch ply

$49 + S

Here is one of my demos for my plein air class on Wednesdays. Thalo blue, Alizarin Crimson and Raw Sienna with Titanium White. It was a spectacular day for viewing clouds as seen below. We painted on the Rolston Rd by the fields of Belted Gallaway cows, that has 365 view of the sky!
So facing west and the Green Mts had end of day light ...so dramatic.

There was a row of us lined up, some using our tailgate as studio.

I started viewing this hole which changed VERY QUICKLY!

These two had a personality on their own.

I could paint clouds all day.

Warren on Drizzly Fall Day

9 x 12 inches Oil on canvas board

Painting under the protection of the gazebo in Warren on a rainy drizzly day 36 degrees in morning. You are looking at the Pitcher Inn on right and the Bradley House on left looking north on Main St. I'd call that advanced plein air painting. My cashmere socks helped somewhat, but insulated shoes would have been better. The car headlight reflections were fun but hard to figure out without my camera to refer to. Moving targets and memories!

Leslie's Pond

12 x 12 inches Oil on canvas

Blocking in the painting over an old painting done on a beach in Malibu.

The trout were waiting to be fed and come when you walk on the dock!

Bear at the Bobbin Mill Falls

24 x 24 inches Oil on canvas

Detail

This was done on location with the small exception of siting the bears. But we certainly do have a bear habitat here in the Mad River Valley. In fact there have been bear citings in my yard as I am nestled next to woods on a mountain. I've stopped feeding the birds because it seems indistinguishable to bears! My neighbor up the hill had one sitting chomping away at her feeder, and it decimated the flower garden upon her departure.

Moose at Mountain

12 x 12 inches Oil on canvas SOLD
$595.

Plein air at the Stowe Mt Golf Course
I had fine day doing demo for the Stowe Arts Festival. I set up in front of the Golf Cottage, after meeting the Golf Pro Ron Philo. The practice green is right below me next to the cart bridge. I've started a moose painting in my studio, and couldn't resist throwing one onto the putting practice green...some folks would later ask " Oh, we missed the moose!"
Maybe that's the point of buying paintings ~! You'll have the moment in time always~
It's at my gallery in Stowe, Vermont Fine Art Gallery and looks pretty fine.
