Stately Saguaros #1713 by Candy Barr

5 x 7 inches Oil on linen on board

$99. + S/H $10

Back painting in Arizona for the winter.

Due to computer difficulties with storing photos, it's been over a year of getting it straightened out, so I can post paintings again.  The short version is size matters...and I don't mean my brain.
Seems like having all my photos on external HD was the way to go, with a new computer....and I must say, I still have the consolidation of folders, albums and what not to organize.

So accessing my past is still rather convoluted.
Let's see if I can at least post new work with regularity,
and thanks for those of you returning, or to new viewers!

By the Water

5 x 7 inches Oil on birch

$99. +S/H

I thought she'd like to see the water and maybe be in it. Turns out I was a big doll player when I was little. So maybe there's something to playing with paintings. It's a good thing.

Canadian Geese Flying South by Mt Mansfield

16 x 20 inches Oil on hardboard

Process in the field of view of Mt Mansfield on overcast day. The geese sounded wonderful as they flew over, and I'm waiting till it dries to put them in stronger. You can just barely see them as dots in a V on completed one. The house is an old Revolutionary period Stone House that you can just barely make out.

Long Legged Nude

14 x 14 Inches Oil on 1.5 deep cradled birch

Working with contrasts starting with the darks.
The landscapes this week were losing contrasts, so I specifically wanted to create a more dramatic setting. It was fun to chat with Billy Brauer who's back after losing the top of his left index finger in a table saw accident 2 weeks ago, and Frank Woods who was set up next to me on the table doing charcoal.
Cora Brooks gave me a returned postcard she had painted of a dove on one side, that was written last Dec 2008 to me. She said something like Happy Moose kiss and have good Holly daze...etc.. She found it while she was going through her papers and writings that HARVARD LIBRARY have accepted for their archives! Go Cora. (anyone want a sharp buy ...Cora's selling her 2 houses next door to each other in Chelsea, Vermont for $275,000. Classic New England capes.. She's moved to Montpelier)

Green Mts Over Pond

6 x 12 inches Oil on canvas board

$99 + S/H

Something got soupy about the mass of trees here. It may in part be the photo itself. It was a great vista of the Green Mountains as seen across a pond and beautifully cleared land.

Marigolds & Goldenglow

6 x 8 inches Oil on canvas (3/4 " stretchers)

$225. + S/H

This is my favorite glass vase,
and the marigolds with the yellow
goldenglow are so cheery.
I've been painting this combination
over the last week, and I never
tire of their excitement!

Profile Portrait Nude

6 x 8 inches Oil on canvas (3/4 stretcher)

$125 + S/H

She had such a other worldly look:
Assyrian, Spanish, I dunno.
In my haste to set up, I locked my
car keys in my trunk, and had
to get a ride home. I picked up
the car today with my spare keys.
~Phew~
