12 x 12 inches Oil on wood
I cropped each of these and didn't realize there was one done earlier. So here's to show how differently editing can affect the end result as a picture!
I'd better choose the color corrected one !

Vernal Pool Reflection
14 x 14 x 1.5 inches Oil on birch

Really infatuated with the reflective colors,
the dispursement of light ~with the rain
lightly falling as well as the wind
shaking the water from the canopy of trees.
It's another rainy day in Maine, so
I'm taking advantage of the
mysteries in the woods.
The ocean waves are tremendous.

Laundry with Rug
12 x 12 inches Oil on canvas
$595. + S/H
Ok, a break in the weather momentarily,
over weekend,
after catching another vernal pool in
the woods in the morning.
I love the contrast from shadows
and the abstract shapes
all over.

Rain Pool
14 x 14 x 1.5 inches Oil on birch panel

This was what I thought was final but then I
wanted the water darker, so I redid it to one above.
I sacrificed some of the freshness, and reds and pinks
especially in the top left. I also broke up the
shape coming in from the right which
I didn't want as the focal point.

It was raining all morning till mid afternoon, and the
droplets were making great rings in this vernal pool.
Mosquitoes abound in Maine this time of year needless
to say. I was fascinated by the reflection, the patterns and
the low contrast with a myriad of colors in the woods.

Autumn Tree

6" x 6" canvas on RDF board
Gone to VT FIne Art gallery
in Stowe, Vermont
Painted en plein air, this is photo taken during session.
The road less traveled. The brilliant color harmony
of the maple tree against the sky was brilliant.

Panning for Gold
3" x 4" Oil$99. + S/HThis is from my figure and nude gesture studies.
I delight in the spontaneous recording of a pose, and
whatever colors are chosen, if they reflect values
is fine with me. This particular one is more natural
than I usually do only because the skin tones were
so interesting with the shadows.

Tahitian model

10 x 10" Oil Well not certain of her ancestry, but went to the MET
last weekend in NYC and found this detail of
a Gauguin that kind of reminds me of her .
The Rembrandt show is on exhibit at the MET
with over 200 paintings from his era including
some outstanding Vemeer's!
No substitute for looking at the REAL THING!
