Reclining Nude

8 x 10 inches Oil on canvas board

Well last weekend I was in Manhatten, and it's pretty darn exciting on a glorious day down 5th Avenue. Went by some interesting sites, that all would make fun paintings (if I could focus to work from my photographs)

Lipstick bdg, and billboards of torsos juxtaposed against concrete and shapes.
And then there was the Kandinsky show filling the Guggenheim. I have never painted someone looking at art in a gallery setting, but I have taken photos of them over the years. I can see how tempting it is to paint, with a nod to Karen Jurick and Robin Cheers (do they have an exclusive on it as painting subject?).

Blueberry Lake Reflection

12 x 12 inches Oil on wood

I cropped each of these and didn't realize there was one done earlier. So here's to show how differently editing can affect the end result as a picture!

I'd better choose the color corrected one !

Yellow Boat

6 x 6 inches Oil on hardboard

$99 + S/H

This painting I did in earlier this summer, just working
with the great shape of a rowboat and some fun color.
And on another note:

We had a wonderful opening at the Wood Art Gallery last night.
Probably 400 to 500 people dropped in.

My painting "Take Me to the River"
on the wall beyond someone's granite "Speed Skater"

A few of my classmates pointed to me and told me I had the "best in the show".
Affirmations are always nice to hear!

Open Studio

Set up display for Open Studio

Figures and portraits

Southwest paintings, and swimmers on left

I have a wonderfully large studio with great light. It takes a while to heat in the winter,
so I don't miss it when we go to Arizona for 3 months.

The Vermont Arts Festival had an Open Studio Tour today, and I spent a lot of time
setting up my studio with paintings on display or in bins all priced. I have too many older paintings, and I'm ready to let them go on sale, so I'll post some of these in the near future or feel free to contact me and make offer on any unsold painting from my thumbnail categories.(click here)

I sold over a dozen paintings, mostly small but a few medium size, so that made it worth the effort. Thank you to my angel patrons who support me!

$595. + S/H

Ok, a break in the weather momentarily,
over weekend,
after catching another vernal pool in
the woods in the morning.
I love the contrast from shadows
and the abstract shapes
all over.

Midwife sketch

12 x 12 inches Oil on wood panel ~ 30 min pose

I met August when she was a mid wife during
my first pregnancy in 1978. She's heading
to live for a month in Tanzania with a team of doctors
helping set up programs with the hospitals there.
She's worked in Central America countries as well.
She revisits them a number of times, until
they are trained in full.
She's currently the
Executive Director of Grounds for Health.
