Sunset #21413 by Candy Barr

5 x 7 x 1.5 inches Oil on gallery wrapped canvas (no frame needed)

Coming home from Glendale plein air, the Arizona sky was sensational.
We don't see sunsets like this in Vermont.

First run before getting darks up...

Bowsprit ~ Happy 4th of July

18 x 24 inches Oil on canvas (in process)

I had painted this bowsprit plein air, with a different
background. It was too bland for the ship,
so I made up the dramatic sky to compliment
the shape of the bowsprit.

The ropes need some more deltail and highlight.
The horizon line is uneven too..yikes.

bow·sprit (bousprt, b-)
n. Nautical
A spar, extending forward from the stem of a ship,
to which the stays of the foremast are fastened.

Grand Canyon Dusk

24 " x 24" Oil on canvas

This was posted last year about this time, and went to
a gallery that closed in the fall when the owner retired,
so it's back in my studio again.
I'm thinking of painting a rectangular one a bit larger.
