 18 x 24 inches Oil on canvas

sitting by the water watching the boat activity pass back and forth, with cormorants and seagulls made for an exciting day.  Watching the tide come in and listening to all the wonderful sounds by the sea.
The wonderful seaside restaurant Anna's Water's Edge near by.
Summer is good.

Fishing Boat - #61811

6 x 6 inches Oil on Birch Ply
Another 20 minute study in grey. With the wind changing and the boat heading in a different direction continuously consequently, it's a challenge to get the alignment just right. You can see how this might have come out very different had I painted it from the photograph. You catch prominent factors when working from life, squinting and catching the values more easily. In a photograph, the values have already been flattened out and less color is available to see.

Pull Start -#61611

6 x 6 inches Oil on Birch Ply

$125. +S/H

I kind of like the two of these juxtaposed together...the bright orange foul weather gear is nice against the greys.

Low Tide Early Morning Rocks

20 x 20 inches Oil on canvas

This wet moss seaweed is pretty darn spring green in the early morning light.

The sound of the glug, glug, glug of the low engine going by to check his traps was a comforting sound at 7 am.

Wholy Mackerel

14 x 14 x 2 inches Oil on cradled birch

$715 + S/H

So the next day I painted this version smaller over a longer period of time in the direct sun. I froze it after that to save to put into a tide pool painting later in the week.

Here's the start
